In Search For Best Hair Care Products

Over the last couple of months, I've noticed that I'm having a hair fall. Well...it's not that serious yet to make me jump out from where I'm seated but it worries me a bit.  I've learned that as we grow older, we have more chances of getting a "hair fall".  But apart from this, hair fall can be caused by too much stress, improper hair care, under nourishment or scalp disorders.  Since, I really wanted to put a stop to my hair problems, I tried to examine the causes of my hair fall.
I think that shampooing my hair daily would definitely take it's natural moisture but on some days, I can't help but washing my hair even if means on successive days.  I try to remedy this by applying some oil in my hair before I go to bed so at least the moisture effect of the oil would penetrate my scalp just before washing it the next morning.
I often take a warm shower.  I've read from some books and magazines that washing your hair with hot or warm water can dry out your hair and make it appear to be dull.  Now, I'm trying to adjust the temperature of the water heater when I'm about to wash or rinse my hair and adjust it again to warm if I have to take a body wash.
I went to Chantaburi Thailand last week during my off day and I did try to scout for some best hair care products.  My search lead me to buy the following hair care products:

I've seen this reactive tonic and after reading the pamphlet inside the package, I decided to buy it.  It's a tonic water hair spray which promised to reduce hair fall and generates new hair growth.  This can be applied directly to the scalp immediately after or in between shampooing.  It can be massage to the scalp using for about 3 minutes using your finger tip pressure technique.  It is recommended to use this everyday and continue the treatment 2 to 3 times per week to avoid recurrence of hair loss.
So far, I've just started using this so I could not make any direct statements yet as to how effective this product in reducing hair fall.
I also bought this Dove hair therapy serum which boasts of it's micro moisture serum that reduces hair damage and hair fall and to instantly protect hair from friction due to frequent brushing. I used to apply this to my wet hair for an instant shine and silky smooth appearance.

Just the same, still have to observe it for at least a month to notice any changes in my hair condition.

Probably, I'll also get a professional glossing treatment when I go back to Philippines for a vacation few months from now.  I also learn that drinking lots of water and eating lots of fruits and protein rich foods like fish and boiled eggs would help.

They say that our hair is our crowning glory so we must exert extra efforts to really take good care of it.  I just hope that I'm on the right path.  I want to regain my thick and healthy hair.

  1. I have the same problem as yours. I'm having hair fall especially when combing my hair after a shower. I also use dove anti-hairfall shampoo and conditioner, it works!

  2. I cannot afford not to shampoo everyday with all the dust and pollution. What I do is I dilute the shampoo to a level where it will still foam.

  3. my mom uses coconut oil to massage her scalp and hair, she also steams her hair by dipping a towel in a pan with hot water, squeeze and wrap it around her head, to treat her hair fall

  4. I have long battled hair fall. But it went from bad to worse when I gave birth. My hairline was obviously receding! Good thing my hair on the forehead grew back. I try not to use the same shampoo all the time, and I don't shampoo everyday anymore :)

  6. I don't shampoo my hair everyday now. Sometimes I use only conditioner. I read in a cosmetic chemists blog that conditioners have mild cleansers din daw that can clean the hair without drying it out too much.

So now, I alternate with shampoo and conditioner every other day.

  9. Being African American, I don't wash my hair everyday. Even washing it once per week can do a bit of damage if I am not careful. With certain hairstyles, I have gone months (mostly winter) without washing it.

  10. Hi..it could be the diet that you're in as well. Drinking milk helps strengthen hair, thus preventing hairfall.

  11. Having a good diet could also help! But please do a review of these products after. :)

  12. I'm curious about Dove's serum. I've used their shampoo and conditioner a few times (while out on vacation, I bought sachets), it looks okay naman. Though I am yet to test it for a month. I'm currently using organic shampoo but it doesn't look like it's helping much on the hairfall problem.

  19. I think it's true that when we wash our hair or shampooing it oftentimes could make it more dull because of the chemicals. Which could possible lead to hair fall. I have the same problem that is why I'm trying Dove. I hope it will do me good. Hoping for yours too. :-)

http://stagemomandmore.blogspot.com/ Could you please follow me back? I'd really love that. :-)

  22. I've realized recently that the problem was not with my hair pala but with the shampoos. That's why I gave up washing my hair everyday. When I do wash I just put minimal shampoo into a tabo with water then that's what I use.
Sa wakas my hair is umayos kahit konti. Not fried looking like before when I would wash it everyday. It's now soft and manageable. Buti na lang I'm staying at home and the weather is cool right now so carry not to wash daily.

  23. I am so used to shampooing my hair everyday that I don't think I'd survive just doing it every other day. But I guess it doesn't hurt to try since I have dry hair talaga and usually resort to hair polish just so I can manage it.

  26. I think you should try Pinoy organic hair products like those from Milea and Carica. At least they dont contain the stuff included in most commercial products sold by grocery stores.
