Free Concert

I've noticed that there are lots of free concerts being shown on the malls.  The last time I was on vacation with hubby, we tried to see one at a mall nearby.  Hubby said the artist is one of his favorites so just to please him, me and our two kids accompanied him to see the concert with the intention of escaping later with my daughter to see a movie (lol).  Guess what? The plan didn't turned out well as we just get annoyed with the quality of the sound system.  Could it be that it's free that's why they have chosen to use a cheaper and lousy sound system?  Probably yes.  Anyhow, I told hubby to leave the concert and find other things to do at the mall.  The concert didn't entertain us at all.  Should they use classic boss pedals at guitar center, things should had been different. :)

But speaking of concerts, what I wish to attend is actually a sort of dinner concert where I could have a close encounter with the artist over a scrumptious dinner.  That would be fun!  Well, I wish that I could fulfill that soon.  I'll be the happiest if ever. :)

A Look at Some Popular Correction Colors

Makeup colors play a vital role in determining the success of a makeover regime. Your makeup complements your personality while the makeup colors you choose complement your features. Needless to say, it is very important to get your makeup colors right.

You use different shades of makeup colors to make your complexion look flawless. These colors even out your skin tone. Correction colors are used to counteract the impact of a particular set of colors.

How correction colors work

A correction color is used to counteract a particular unwanted color in your skin tone. The counter color is based on the concept of complementary colors. Addition of one color negates the effect of another color. In the present context, a correction color complementary to the undesirable color in your skin tone is added to make your complexion even and flawless.
  • Using green over red
Many people have redness problems due to rashes or acne. Green is the complementary color to red. However, you need to blend green into your red undertones properly; otherwise, it will look very odd.

When you use a very mild green color over reddish complexion, your complexion looks subtle and even. The redness is gone and you are left with a cool skin undertone.
  • Using peach or salmon over blue
Many people suffer from dark circles beneath the eyes. These dark circles could be due to improper nutrition, lack of sleep, depression or hereditary causes. These dark circles have a bluish undertone. The complementary color of blue is orange.

If you have a fair complexion, you can use a peach colored shade. If you have a dark complexion, you should opt for a salmon shaded color for your dark circles. The use of peach or salmon color over dark or bluish dark circles makes the dark circles less prominent and makes your complexion even.
  • Using purple over yellow
Some people have pale, yellowish skin tone, which might be due to malnutrition or prolonged sickness. There can also be yellowish patches and bruises left from critical injuries. The best way to overcome the yellowish tone is to use lavender or a purple shaded correction color. A purple color for the entire face will take away the yellowish tinge from your complexion.

Experiment with makeup

Makeup is all about experimentation. Unless you experiment, you will never know what looks best on you or what suits your complexion. Women are gracious enough to carry almost any makeup with elegance. You only need to take care of the color combinations, color corrections as well as the color intensity.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies!

After my kids managed to bake Moist Chocolate Cupcakes for the very first time, they thought of trying another one and this time, it's the Chewy Chocolate Cookies.  I am a bit surprised with the results.  I never thought that they can learn that fast.  :)  Here is the outcome!

They told me that it is not really hard to bake and they have chosen a simple recipe online.

Here's how:

Ingredients:
  • ¾ cup butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown/red sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Procedure:
      1. Preheat oven to 350F (180C)
      2. Mix flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.
      3. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugars until fluffy and light in color. Add egg and vanilla
          and blend in.
      4. Mix in flour mixture on low speed. Stir in chocolate chunks.
      5. Using a standard-sized cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto prepared baking sheets. Bake
          for 8-10 minutes.
      6. Let it cool and remove from baking sheets.

Wish I was at home to try this myself but unfortunately, I won't be able to do this yet.  probably when I'm home soon.  But in fairness, the cookies look so yummy  and I think that both my kids had done a great job.

Way to go kids!

Coping Up

Since I started blogging, I was able to counter my boredom working abroad.  You see, for someone who is alone in a foreign land, things don't come up so easily.  Lots of adjustments along the way and being able to do something worthwhile while killing your time is indeed a challenge for all OFW's.  My laptop has been my  companion and my best buddy.  It is very instrumental in connecting me to my family and friends.  It also paved the way for being able to move to another company and it opens the door to meeting wonderful people online.  In this kind of situation, who wouldn't be thankful to this humble computer of mine?  Apart from all the things mentioned, it also earned me a sum of money from my online tasks.  Having said all these, I would say that I really love my computer a lot, and I am doing everything to take care of it.  I researched topics on how to clean out your computer and somehow it helps me increased it's life span.  I've been using it for three years already and so far it never failed me.  I couldn't imagine what would happen to me if it does, one day.

I'm Back!

I felt a little bit guilty not being able to post anything here for more than a week, I guess.  It's not that I don't want to but I'm really busy for the past couple of weeks!  Besides, I also got sick for few days. Were also having an unpredictable weather condition here in Cambodia.  Some days are really hot, and some days, we are experiencing heavy rains.  So, it's more likely that you will catch a flu.  Anyway, I'm okay now.  But guess what?  I never stopped working even I'm on the height of my fever.  I didn't file a sick leave and  I never stop with my blogging activities, either.  The show must go on, so to speak.  But I didn't neglect on my health.  I took the necessary medicines, eat a lot of fruits and had taken fruit juices and soup.  I have to help myself as I am alone.  Anyway, the past weeks has been really good.  At times, I'm a bit stressed, feeling bored with my daily routine but I have a consolation anyway and that's being able to chat with kids and hubby on a regular basis.  At least, we are still able to catch up with each others lives and that's the most important thing.

Now, I'm back into shape and getting busier and busier. I hope I would be able to finish all my pending tasks  as scheduled.

Ciao!

Father's Day Gift

Unlike Moms, choosing a gift for a Dad is quite challenging.  Choices are limited and gifts for men are often more expensive.  As Father's Day is fast approaching, I'm sure that both Moms and kids are now occupied thinking of what would be the best gift they could give to their Dads.  Well, I think it depends.  It depends on your budget and on what kind of stuff they are interested with.  For some "men of the house", they would go for a simple gift that's personally made for them especially so if they already have everything in their closet. However, some still prefer to have an additional thing in their growing collection of shirts, jackets, shoes, perfumes, belts, neck ties or maui jim sunglasses.   Well, if you can very well afford it, that would be a good idea, too.  Anyway, whatever you come up with, I'm sure that it will be appreciated.  Father's are normally less expressive of their feelings but anything that would come from any member of the family would surely warm their hearts.

My Weekend....

I don't know if I would be thankful that my sickness falls on my day off as I really can't afford to get up from bed yesterday due to high fever and severe head ache.  I'm having a flu and I started to have a slight fever last Friday few hours before I checked out from work.  I was hoping to recover after taking some medications but it worsens and I just woke up the following day having a high fever and sore throat.  I was a bit upset because  I was actually planning to do a lot of things on my day off but it turned out that I have to stay on bed as I can hardly move around.  Well, I get better at night time though, thus I was able to do some blog hopping and iron some of my clothes. Even though I wanted to have a complete bed rest, I just can't afford it as I am alone and nobody will do things for me.  I have to get up from bed to cook my meal as I have to take some medicines.  Hayyy......buhay OFW!

Anyway, I have to get things going and did everything to to get myself cured in time for my work tonight.  I'm not fully recovered yet but I don't have a choice but to get back to work.  My June started with a sickness but it's okay, I don't have to let this thing ruin my entire month.  I had several things lately that didn't actually get to my favor, but it's okay.  There are more things to be thankful for.

So, let's try to get some positives vibes for the month of June. :)

How about you?  How was your weekend?
